As the Namada mainnet launch approaches, many users are preparing to stake their $NAM tokens and contribute to the network’s security. Staking allows holders to delegate their tokens to validators, who are responsible for validating transactions and maintaining the integrity of the network. In return, both validators and their delegators earn rewards for helping to secure the blockchain. Stakecito is stoked to be a Namada validator and in this blog post, we'll walk you exactly how to stake your NAM quickly and easily.

What Is Staking and Why It Matters for Namada

Namada operates on a proof-of-stake (PoS) mechanism, which means the network relies on validators and delegators to secure transactions and validate blocks. Validators, like Stakecito, play a key role in maintaining the network’s reliability and stability. By staking your tokens, you help support this infrastructure while earning staking rewards in return.

How to Stake Namada ($NAM) with Stakecito in Just 2 Minutes

Stakecito recently shared a tutorial demonstrating how to stake $NAM in just a couple of minutes. Below are the steps to follow:

1. Visit the Staking Platform

First, navigate to the Namada Staking Interface, where you can connect your wallet and access the staking interface for Namada’s network.

2. Choose Stakecito as Your Validator

Once your wallet is connected, you will be able to choose a validator to delegate your tokens to. Select Stakecito as your preferred validator from the drop down menu.

3. Enter Your Stake Amount

Next, decide how much $NAM you wish to stake and input that amount into the staking interface. You can stake any amount that suits your strategy.

4. Click "Sign Bond"

After entering your stake amount, click the "Sign Bond" button to confirm your transaction. This step officially delegates your tokens to Stakecito, allowing you to start earning staking rewards.

5. Complete the Process

Once you’ve confirmed the transaction, your $NAM tokens are successfully staked. The process is complete, and you can now monitor your staked balance and any rewards earned over time.

Things to Consider When Staking with a Validator

When staking your tokens, it's important to choose a validator carefully. Validators perform a critical role in securing the network, and different validators may offer various benefits in terms of performance, communication, and reliability.

As Namada prepares to launch its mainnet, staking is a straightforward way to contribute to network security while earning rewards. Whether you’re new to staking or familiar with the process, the steps outlined here make it simple to get started.
