Babylon Airdrop Registration: Everything You Need to Know

Babylon Foundation has announced the registration for its upcoming airdrop, linked to the launch of Babylon Genesis, the first Bitcoin Secured Network (BSN). Registration opened at 8:00 am UTC on February 25, 2025, and will close at 8:00 am UTC on March 15, 2025.

Participants will need to create a BABY address and cryptographically link it to their Bitcoin wallet or other eligible accounts to receive the airdrop. This registration process is a critical step for those looking to participate in Babylon Genesis and benefit from the decentralized security and liquidity it offers.

About Babylon Genesis and the Airdrop

Babylon Genesis is the first Bitcoin Secured Network and will serve as the control plane for security and liquidity orchestration for other BSNs to come. The airdrop is designed to reward early supporters and contributors who have helped build the Babylon ecosystem. Cuneiform Assets, a Babylon Foundation company, will manage the airdrop registration and distribution. Participants who miss the registration window may have another opportunity after the launch of Babylon Genesis.

Eligibility Criteria for the Airdrop

Three main groups are eligible for this airdrop:

1. Phase-1 Stakers

• Stakers who participated in Phase-1 staking up to the closure of Cap-3, including both accepted and overflow stakes.

  
  

• Pioneer Pass NFT holders who staked during Phase-1 are eligible for an additional allocation. A snapshot of NFT holders was taken at Polygon block 68305555 on February 24, 2025, at 7:15 AM UTC.

2. Phase-1 Finality Providers

• Finality Providers that registered on Babylon’s Github and received delegations during Phase-1.

3. Contributors to Eligible Github Repositories

• Contributors to open-source projects related to Cosmos, Bitcoin, Ethereum, Shared Security, Cryptography, Zero Knowledge, and BitVM.

How to Register for the Airdrop

Participants need to create a BABY address and link it with relevant accounts. The registration process differs slightly for web users and CLI users:

Web Users

1. Create a BABY address by following the official guide.

   
   

2. Visit the airdrop registration portal to register the BABY address and link it with:

   • BTC addresses (for staking)

   • Polygon addresses (for Pioneer Pass NFTs)

   • Github accounts

     
     

3. Cryptographic proof-of-possession is required for BTC and Polygon addresses, but not for Github accounts.

CLI Users

1. Follow the guide to:

   • Create a BABY address

   • Link it with:

     • BTC public keys (for staking)

     • Polygon addresses (for NFTs)

     • Finality provider public keys

       
       

2. Interact with the API at https://airdrop-api.babylon.foundation to submit or remove the registration.
