With IBC Eureka nearing launch, Cosmos leaders are signaling the beginning of a new phase for the ATOM economy—one built on coordinated development, ecosystem alignment, and accessible distribution.
From Infrastructure to Ecosystem
As outlined by Magmar, CEO of Interchain Labs, IBC Eureka is only the first step in what will become a broader rollout of ATOM-aligned applications and new use cases exclusive to the Cosmos Hub and Eureka’s coordination layer. The Hub is no longer just a passive participant in the interchain, it’s being positioned as an active platform for cross-chain services and DeFi protocols.
The upcoming wave of deployments is expected to take advantage of the Cosmos SDK’s interoperability features, alongside the coordination power of IBC v2. Builders are encouraged to develop on the Hub to access the full IBC-connected economy without the overhead of deploying across multiple chains.
Cosmos Hub as a Distribution Partner
Noam Cohen, a prominent Cosmos contributor, described the Hub’s evolving role as a distribution layer for the interchain. Instead of building across 150+ IBC chains individually, developers can now deploy on the Hub and serve the entire ecosystem via IBC.
This vision frames the Hub as a service provider in the Cosmos economy—supporting protocols with built-in liquidity, routing capabilities, and shared security where needed. As new infrastructure comes online, the path is being cleared for serious application growth.

The Cosmos leadership isn’t shying away from the challenges of ecosystem activation. Instead, they’re calling on the community to engage directly: use the apps, provide feedback, and help shape the future of the ATOM economy.
