——————————————————August was an exciting month for as the Osmosis platform rolled out a series of updates and features, designed to enhance user experience and expand its capabilities within the decentralized finance (DeFi) space.

Let’s dive into the key highlights from the recent updates and what they mean for Osmosis users:

Limit Orders with Onchain Orderbooks

One of the most significant updates introduced in August is the new trading experience, featuring Limit Orders powered by an Onchain Orderbook system. This long-awaited feature adds a new layer of control for traders, enabling them to specify the price at which they want to buy or sell assets on Osmosis. Unlike traditional market orders, which are executed at the current market price, limit orders allow traders to set their preferred price points. This provides users with greater precision, enhancing the overall trading experience on the platform.

Revamped Deposit & Withdraw Flow

Another major upgrade is the redesigned Deposit and Withdraw flow, aimed at improving one of the most frequent user actions on the platform. With a new full-screen experience, Osmosis has made it easier and more seamless for users to transfer their funds.

New Portfolio Page

August also saw the introduction of a brand-new Portfolio page, designed to give users more comprehensive insights into their assets. This feature allows users to track the historical performance of their portfolios over various timeframes, review their trading activity, and get a detailed overview of their token allocations. With this enhancement, users can make more informed decisions based on a clearer understanding of their asset positions.

Fractal Integration for NFTs

Osmosis continues to push the boundaries of what’s possible in DeFi with the integration of Fractal. This feature allows users to fractionalize their NFTs, turning them into fungible tokens that can be traded or added to liquidity pools on the Osmosis DEX. Through this integration, Osmosis expands its reach beyond traditional DeFi, offering new opportunities for NFT holders to unlock liquidity from their digital assets.

EVM Integration with evmOS

One of the biggest governance moves of the month was the approval of a proposal to integrate EVM compatibility into Osmosis via evmOS. This marks a major step in expanding Osmosis’s cross-chain capabilities, allowing it to interact with Ethereum-based projects and assets more seamlessly. By integrating EVM compatibility, Osmosis can tap into the broader DeFi ecosystem, connecting with other chains and bringing more liquidity into its ecosystem.

DexScreener Integration

Visibility is key to success in DeFi, and Osmosis took a step forward by integrating with DexScreener, a popular tool for tracking and analyzing tokens across decentralized exchanges. This integration gives users the ability to track all tokens supported by the Osmosis DEX, providing better analytics and insights into market activity.

Over 2 Million OSMO Tokens Burned

A significant milestone was reached in August, with over 2 million OSMO tokens burned. Token burns are an essential part of supply management, reducing the overall supply of OSMO and contributing to its long-term value proposition.

What’s Next for Osmosis?

As August came to a close, Osmosis teased that something big is on the horizon, with more details to be revealed at Solana Breakpoint 2024. From product upgrades to governance decisions, August was a big month for Osmosis, and the future looks even more promising.
