In a recent interview hosted by Nemus, co-founder of Stakecito, Yishay, the co-founder of Dymension, shed light on Dymension’s mission, the challenges it aims to solve, and its roadmap for the future.
Dymension is building the Internet of RollApps—a vision that combines modularity, scalability, and user empowerment into one innovative blockchain ecosystem.
From the technical advantages of their unique architecture to upcoming features like Initial RollApp Offerings (IROs), Yishay’s insights highlighted how Dymension is addressing critical gaps in the blockchain space.

Modularity - Simplifying Blockchain Creation
At the heart of Dymension lies the concept of modular blockchains. RollApps—application-specific rollups built on Dymension’s infrastructure—are designed to make blockchain creation as simple as launching a website. Entrepreneurs, regardless of technical expertise, can deploy their own RollApps through Dymension’s user-friendly interface, bypassing the complexities of traditional blockchain development.
Unlike ecosystems that rely on multisig bridges, Dymension ensures security by leveraging its layer-1 Hub. This Hub safeguards RollApp funds, verifying deposits and withdrawals while maintaining trustless operations. Yishay emphasized that this architecture eliminates traditional vulnerabilities while empowering creators to focus on building innovative applications rather than managing infrastructure.
Addressing the App Chain Thesis with the 3D Upgrade
Dymension’s upcoming 3D upgrade takes the platform’s capabilities to the next level by enabling anyone to create RollApps permissionlessly. According to Yishay, the upgrade represents the realization of Dymension’s vision—democratizing blockchain creation while integrating all necessary tools into a single, seamless ecosystem.
With the 3D upgrade, creators can:
Define tokenomics, branding, and other RollApp parameters.
Access a marketplace connecting creators with operators.
Leverage a full-stack solution that includes liquidity, user incentives, and governance tools.
The result is an all-in-one ecosystem where creators can build, launch, and scale their projects with ease.
Initial RollApp Offerings (IROs)- A New Fundraising Model
During the interview, Yishay also introduced Initial RollApp Offerings (IROs) as a novel way to bootstrap liquidity for RollApps. Basically, IROs allow creators to launch token futures before deploying their RollApp, providing early access to supporters while raising funds for liquidity pools. These tokens, traded on customizable bonding curves, can later be exchanged 1:1 for native RollApp tokens once the blockchain is live.
Creators have full control over their IRO structure, choosing between bonding curve options like:
Fixed Price: A constant price for all tokens.
Linear Growth: Prices increase steadily as tokens are sold.
Exponential Growth: Prices rise at an accelerating rate.
This flexibility allows creators to align their fundraising strategies with their project’s goals while fostering fair and transparent participation for early adopters.
Monetization Through Royalties and Endorsements
One of Dymension’s more compelling features is its focus on sustainable monetization for creators. Yishay highlighted two mechanisms that empower RollApp founders to generate ongoing revenue:
Royalties: Creators earn 50% of swap fees generated from RollApp and IRO token transactions. This model provides a steady stream of income, incentivizing creators to grow their projects.
Endorsements: DYM stakers can vote to allocate incentives to specific RollApps or their token pools. This democratic mechanism ensures that resources flow to the most promising projects while engaging the community in decision-making.
Building an Internet of RollApps
Yishay went on to describe Dymension as more than just a blockchain platform—it’s an ecosystem built to serve users, creators, and operators alike. The platform’s modular architecture separates data, security, and execution layers, ensuring scalability and flexibility. This approach allows RollApps to operate with minimal latency while leveraging Dymension’s Hub for security and data availability.
With the upcoming 3D upgrade, Dymension aims to support thousands of RollApps, fostering an environment where decentralized innovation can flourish. From enabling businesses to launch their own RollApps to supporting vibrant meme coin communities, Dymension is positioning itself as one of the new frontiers of crypto innovation.
As the interview wrapped up, Yishay hinted at even more exciting developments in Dymension’s future, including the eventual 4D upgrade. However, the immediate focus remains on delivering the 3D upgrade and its transformative capabilities.
