In a strategic move to advance decentralized Artificial Intelligence (AI), CUDOS has officially merged with the Artificial Superintelligence (ASI) Alliance—a coalition that includes SingularityNET, Fetch.ai, and Ocean Protocol. This merger marks a significant development in the journey toward creating decentralized infrastructure to support future AI systems, particularly Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) and Artificial Superintelligence (ASI).

Rather than simply pooling resources, this merger brings together the computing power of CUDOS and the AI-focused frameworks of the ASI Alliance members, with the goal of democratizing the development of advanced AI technologies. This collaboration aims to ensure that these technologies are transparent, accessible, and ethically governed.

What Are AGI and ASI?

Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) refers to AI systems capable of understanding, learning, and performing tasks across multiple domains at a human level. This is a shift from narrow AI, which is designed for specific tasks like voice recognition or image classification, to systems that can adapt to new challenges much like a human would.

On the other hand, Artificial Superintelligence (ASI) refers to AI systems that surpass human intelligence across all domains. These systems, while still theoretical, would outperform humans in every intellectual task, raising profound ethical and societal questions about control and governance.

Why the Merger Matters

The merger between CUDOS and the ASI Alliance addresses one of the most pressing challenges in AI development: the need for scalable, decentralized computing resources. Today, most large-scale AI developments are concentrated in the hands of a few major corporations with vast computing power. By merging with CUDOS, the ASI Alliance gains access to a decentralized compute network that can handle the immense processing demands of AGI and ASI systems.

This collaboration also ensures that the development of these advanced AI technologies remains decentralized, which is crucial for maintaining transparency, ethical governance, and global accessibility. By working together, the ASI Alliance and CUDOS can build infrastructure that rivals centralized tech giants while keeping AI development in the hands of a broader community.

Token Migration

As part of the merger, CUDOS token holders are now able to migrate their tokens to the ASI Alliance’s FET token. This migration allows CUDOS holders to seamlessly integrate into the broader ASI ecosystem, aligning themselves with the future of decentralized AI development.

The migration process is simple and secure. Token holders need to connect their wallets to the official migration page hosted by SingularityDAO, select the CUDOS tokens they wish to convert, and review the conversion rate. Once the transaction is approved, the tokens will be migrated, and users will receive FET tokens, which serve as the governance and utility tokens for the entire ASI Alliance ecosystem.

Importantly, this migration is an ongoing process. There’s no rush—CUDOS holders can migrate their tokens at their convenience. The smart contract will remain open indefinitely, ensuring that long-term supporters have the flexibility to swap their tokens when they’re ready. In addition, CUDOS token holders will continue to benefit from rewards and incentives for holding ASI tokens.

The Future of Decentralized AI Development

This merger not only brings together technical infrastructure but also aligns governance across the platforms. The unified $FET token will be the backbone of decentralized governance for the ASI Alliance, ensuring that decisions are made transparently and democratically by the global community of token holders.

By decentralizing the power structures that typically control AI development, the ASI Alliance is laying the groundwork for a more inclusive and ethical future. This merger also signals a growing movement toward decentralizing AI development at a time when concerns about control and transparency are at the forefront of technological discussions. By pooling their resources, CUDOS and the ASI Alliance are demonstrating that it’s possible to build large-scale AI systems that are both cutting-edge and democratically governed.
