The Babylon Foundation has officially launched its Early Adopters Airdrop, allocating 600 million BABY tokens—representing 6% of the total supply—to early participants in the Babylon ecosystem. The initiative recognizes contributions from Phase-1 Bitcoin stakers, Pioneer Pass NFT holders, and open-source developers. Distribution will be managed by Cuneiform Assets, a subsidiary of the Babylon Foundation.
Overview of the Airdrop Program
The airdrop is designed to reward community members who helped build and support Babylon prior to its Genesis launch. There is no separate claim process—tokens will be transferred automatically to registered BABY addresses upon the launch of the Babylon Genesis chain.
Eligible recipients were required to register by March 25, 2025, and meet the criteria outlined in the Airdrop Terms. The airdrop includes five distinct allocation categories.
1. Stake Participation Airdrop (30M BABY)
30 million BABY tokens are allocated to individual Phase-1 stakes, including both accepted and overflow stakes. The distribution per stake varies by cap:
Cap 1: 550 BABY per eligible stake
Cap 2: 150 BABY per eligible stake
Cap 3: 100 BABY per eligible stake
2. Base Staking Reward Airdrop (335M BABY)
335 million BABY tokens are distributed to Phase-1 stakers and their delegated finality providers. The reward is calculated per BTC block and distributed proportionally based on stake size, minus any applicable commission from finality providers.
3. Bonus Staking Reward for Phase-2 Transition (200M BABY)
Stakes that remain active and successfully transition to Phase-2 are eligible for a bonus airdrop. To qualify, stakers must:
Register for Babylon Genesis staking within four weeks of launch
Remain staked for at least 100 consecutive days after registration
Stakers are permitted one redelegation during this period, provided they restake within 10 days. The bonus is proportional to rewards earned in the base staking category.
4. Pioneer Pass NFT Holders (30M BABY)
Each Pioneer Pass NFT holder who registered by the deadline will receive 300 BABY tokens per NFT. A snapshot was taken at Polygon block 68305555 on February 24, 2025. Unclaimed tokens from this category will be reallocated to community incentives.
5. GitHub Developer Recognition (5M BABY)
This category recognizes contributions to open-source repositories relevant to the Babylon ecosystem. A snapshot of eligible commits was taken on February 23, 2025. Tokens are distributed based on commit activity.
How to Check Your Allocation
Eligible users can check their airdrop status at airdrop.babylon.foundation by entering their BABY wallet address. If no allocation appears, it may be due to unsigned Airdrop Terms. A signing page will be provided post-launch.
Second-Chance Eligibility for Late Registrants
Stakers who missed the initial registration deadline may still qualify if they transition their stake to Phase-2 and meet the conditions outlined above. These users will receive allocations from the first three airdrop categories.

BABY is the native token of Babylon Genesis. It will be used for:
Transaction fees and gas
Governance participation
Staking and security
Babylon Genesis introduces a dual staking model where both BABY and Bitcoin provide cryptoeconomic security. BABY tokenholders and BTC stakers will be eligible for staking rewards, aligning long-term incentives across the ecosystem.
