Anoma has launched its first developer network (devnet), marking a key milestone in its journey toward mainnet. This private devnet phase allows a select group of developers to experiment with Anoma’s intent-centric model, providing feedback that will shape future iterations of the network.
Unlike traditional blockchain systems that rely on transaction-based execution, Anoma introduces a model where users specify intents—desired outcomes—and the network finds optimal ways to fulfill them. This shift could have significant implications for decentralized applications (dApps), improving efficiency, composability, and user experience.
A New Paradigm for Web3 Development
Decentralized applications today rely on transaction-based models, where users execute predefined actions. Anoma’s intent-centric approach changes this dynamic by allowing users to express their precise goals instead of issuing indirect commands. The network then coordinates resources and execution paths to fulfill these intents.
This model aims to reduce the fragmentation that currently limits Web3 adoption, offering a more seamless experience for developers and end users. However, it also introduces a new resource framework that developers will need to navigate. The devnet serves as a testing ground for refining this approach before broader adoption.
Early Builders and Their Projects
Several early-stage projects are already building on Anoma’s devnet, exploring applications in DeFi, AI, messaging, and privacy. These teams will provide critical feedback to enhance Anoma’s capabilities.
Some of the first projects include:
Mycel – A privacy-preserving order book DEX that facilitates seamless cross-chain trading.
HeyElsa – An AI-driven platform simplifying Web3 trading through natural-language interfaces.
Fluton – A fast, low-cost gateway for cross-chain swaps and liquidity enhancement.
Reppo – A resource coordination layer for AI developers, enabling capital access and infrastructure use.
Spicenet – A unified liquidity layer integrating intent-based execution for trading applications.
These projects highlight the potential for intent-centric architecture to impact multiple industries beyond finance, extending into AI coordination and decentralized infrastructure.
Developer Resources and the Next Steps
With the devnet launch, Anoma has also released developer documentation, including an introduction to Juvix, the programming language designed for intent-centric applications. The documentation will continue to evolve alongside the platform, incorporating community feedback and development insights.
The next phase of Anoma’s roadmap will involve expanding developer access through the Anoma Builders Program, which will allow a broader group of developers to build and test applications on the network. Lessons learned from this initial phase will inform future iterations and the eventual public testnet.
